We cannot change the world, but “little drops make a mighty ocean…” and we can all change the way we travel, deliver services, and organize events.
Here is a special message from our founder Laura Notarbartolo and our partners in this adventure: Noemi Freixes (coach facilitator), Carolyn Berger (oceanographer active in the MUMA Project), Filippo Landini (wellness coach and yoga teacher) and Raffaele Barsanti (psychotherapist and expert in mindfulness).
This year is going to be crucial. If we want to help accomplish the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda, this is the time for the events and travel professionals to make a serious commitment on how our sector will work towards achieving sustainability.
That’s why, at Italian Special Occasions DMC, we transformed all the ideas and positive dialogues of #italyleadsthechange into our first practical project of 2021: #BEYONDITALY.
The aim of Beyond Italy is to promote this beautiful country through itineraries and experiences that highlight the culture, the identity, and the traditions of the Italian territory. It places a particular emphasis on the parts of Italy that are unknown. But we unveil these hidden gems by promoting sustainable tourism and events, for example by working with Seasonality to sustain local communities throughout the year and avoiding mass tourism. Italy’s cultural heritage must be accessible but not consumed.
Four important concepts that were constantly in our minds when developing each #beyonditaly itinerary:
- Meeting people
- Connecting with nature
- Feeling the energy
- Opening our minds
This is how we are going to give a hugely different meaning to travel and meetings: we all took them for granted before, but now things have changed and we cannot forget this.
