The Challenge
The client sought to organize a corporate retreat that would inspire their team by integrating work sessions with meaningful leisure activities focused on culture, nature, and sustainability. Their aim was to host the event away from traditional business hubs, ensuring the location would enhance creativity and collaboration.
The Approach
The retreat was planned in the beautiful but lesser-known Tuscia Laziale, a scenic area located an hour from Rome. The chosen venue, Terme di Stigliano, is a historical building surrounded by a 20-hectare thermal park used since ancient times by the Etruscans and Romans. This venue offered an ideal setting for both productivity and relaxation, with tranquil outdoor spaces perfect for brainstorming sessions.
To enhance the participants’ connection with the location, an environmental guide introduced them to the region’s history, culture, and natural resources. The guide also discussed the broader efforts of local conservation and reforestation projects.

The Venue & Environment
The venue’s natural setting and rich historical background offered the perfect environment for deep focus during work sessions and relaxation during downtime. The facility’s thermal park, ruins of ancient temples, and serene landscapes provided a unique backdrop that inspired creativity.
Cultural & Environmental Team Building
A creative team-building activity was designed around food, environment, and culture. After a brief educational session on the region’s heritage and ecological practices, participants were challenged to prepare a traditional Italian aperitivo and cocktail using locally sourced ingredients.
This activity, while fun and educational, also supported environmental awareness. A tree was planted through a reforestation project in France, a gesture made possible by collaboration with a dedicated local supplier.
Promoting Sustainable Practices
To minimize plastic waste, participants received branded reusable water bottles. The venue provided a water dispenser, eliminating the need for disposable bottles throughout the event. This effort prevented the use of approximately 360 plastic bottles daily.
